It’s unfortunate that a lot of people make their decisions based on how others will react. Most times, this can be said for the way you dress, the type of car you buy, or the job you seek. Most decisions tend to be made based on what other people think, rather than looking inward at what’s best for yourself. If you can begin to turn your focus inward, and truly become your authentic self, you’ll find that you’re able to live your best life.
How To Find Your Authentic Self
Finding your authentic self can be both challenging and extremely rewarding. It can help you be at peace with your career, your personal life, and your mental state. Without living with your authentic self, you may find yourself leading a life that’s sub par, passionless, and without true value.
First and foremost, you must understand your value. In order to find your authenticity, you must appreciate that you are unique; being your authentic self is of incredible value. Think to yourself: would your superiors have hired you if they didn’t think you were of value?
Most tend to have an inner and outer being. Your outer being is the person who you put on at work, or in front of friends or family. Your inner being is your true self. It’s only a rare few whose inner and outer persona are aligned – those who have found their authentic self. It takes vulnerability, courage, and honesty to truly find your authentic self, but it can be the most rewarding journey you ever embark upon.
Embrace Your Past, Focus On The Future
While your past has helped shaped who you are today, it doesn’t have to hinder your present self. Your past has played a major role in shaping you into the person you are today. All of the positive and negative things that have happened to you in your past have molded your mind, body, and soul into the being you are presently. It’s important to embrace your past self, not be held back by it. For without those memories, you wouldn’t be where you are today.
As you embrace your past, be sure to look ahead to the future. Becoming your authentic self is a commitment; it takes time and effort to set your true self free. Will it be worth the effort? Absolutely. When you finally become your true authentic self, it opens doors to endless opportunities. Finding your true purpose will put you on the path to realizing your true career and personal goals.
“Each of you has been born with desires and capabilities that, when freed, put you on the path to realizing your true purpose.”
